Thinking about the 2010 census, I casually ask: “Is it still possible to conduct censuses ourselves? Is it better for the rest of the population?” As I explained earlier, this approach has significantly more goals. I would like to talk about them myself.

What is a population census and why is it carried out?

First of all, a population census is a single process that includes the collection, collation, analysis and publication of demographic, social and economic data of the population. The population census can include both all residents of the region and residents of surrounding regions.

However, population censuses allow tracking migration processes and demographic changes. Before that, there is a strong smell from the organization of state-owned information resources. Censuses help keep track of life in the region.

Population categories and census types

There are two types of population census: programmatic and terminological.
