Church of Peter and Paul in Soldiers' Sloboda. Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul Saints Apostles Peter and Paul

The first Lutherans appeared in Moscow in the 16th century. These were requests from Europe from craftsmen, doctors and merchants. And already in 1694, the birth of Peter I founded the Lutheran Kamyan Church in the name of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul - which was consecrated through the river, for his special presence. Under the hour of the Great Moscow Fire of 1812, the temple burned. The first parish added to the Lopukhinsky garden near Pokrovka, on Starosadsky Provulk. With the death of the King of Prussia, Frederick William III, and also with the fate of Alexander I, the fate of the future began to replace the purchased building under the church - a dome and a cross were erected. On September 18, 1819, the temple was consecrated. In the cruel fate of 1837, the organ began to sound. In 1862, reconstruction was carried out in the neo-Gothic style, according to the plan of the architect A. Meinhardt. And in 1863 I received the ringing of a gift from Kaiser Wilhelm I.

The Church played an important role in the religious and musical life of Moscow - both Muscovite and foreign Viconavians performed in it. Do not forget about the organ concert of Franz Liszt, which took place on May 4, 1843.

On the 5th of 1905, the church of the Cathedral of the Moscow Consistorial District was consecrated. In 1918, the cathedral acquired the status of the Cathedral of Russia, and then the entire Radyansky Union.

However, after the revolution, the USSR began a persecution of religion. I'll be taken away from the community. In 1937, the cathedral was converted into the Arktika cinema, and then transferred to the Diafilm studio. The extensive replanning, unfortunately, completely destroyed the entire interior. In 1941, the church organ was evacuated to the Novosibirsk Opera House, where it was often used for metal work, and often for decoration. And before the All-World Festival of young people and students in 1957, the spire of the cathedral was erected.

At the time of 1992, according to the decree of the Moscow Order, the communities were turned away. And in 2004, after much effort, the team was able to find sponsors both among private individuals and among organizations. This made it possible to print large-scale work. Nareshti, November 30, 2008, at the hour of the regular service, the consecration of the revived cathedral took place.

Nina’s cathedral, in addition to the services, there are numerous concerts - musical instruments sound, miraculous voices sing, enchanting music comes to life. Established on the contrary, the organ "SAUER" (established in 1898 under the ownership of Wilhelm Sauer, one of the largest organ companies in Germany) is one of the few romantic organs of the nineteenth centuries that have been saved in Russia. The unique acoustics of the Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul gives the opportunity to enjoy its sounds in a new world.

In contrast to other churches that were built on the Ivanivka Hill, the church in the name of St. ap. Peter and Paul from the hour of waking and Donina without closing their eyes. Along the quiet Petropavlovsky Avenue, the traditions of Moscow Orthodox piety were preserved, the shrines of closed and ruined churches were handed over to the temple, the meaningless clergy found their own corners at the walls of the church and withdrew as much help as possible from the parishioners. The temple became for many years the center of church life in this part of the historical center of our place. In our days, the Church of the Holy Apostles began with the blessing of the clergy. Peter and Paul became the subordinates of the Serbian Orthodox Church, being a symbol of the spiritual brotherhood of both the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Churches.

The temple at this place was named “Peter and Paul the Tall, on the mountain” from a long time ago. The first stone temple dates back to 1631. There is a testimony that the holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Adrian sang at the Church of Vassa Stroganov in the Birth of 1693. For the blessings of the Holy One, the house church in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was held at the parish of the Peter and Paul Church, which was celebrated in 1698 at the vigil of General Fyodor Golovin (“stones with ringing”). With the blessing of the Holy Patriarch, the old stone church was dismantled and a new one was built in 1700-1702, which stands to this day. The head altar of the new church was consecrated in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Znamennya”, and for the old altar in the name of St. ap. Peter and Paul enjoyed the special warmth of the winter from their side. The patrons and temple bearers of the new church were ancient parishioners from the European and Kolichevyh family. Vasilisa Eropkina took the main expenses. The appearance of the antimens before the newly restored temple took place on the 1st of June 1702. The architectural style of the new temple dates back to the “Moscow Baroque”.

In 1731, the people in the church ruled over the particular Kazan region between the Pivden side and the temple becoming the tripartite. The throne was consecrated on the 13th of June 1731 by the archpriest of the Great Assumption Cathedral, John Maximov. The temple was severely damaged in the Moscow fire of 1748, and only after the parafians were soon restored. A significant feature of the Peter and Paul parish was the establishment in 1771 of a new three-tiered unit, which was maintained throughout the plague epidemic and severe quarantine. Following the entry of the Apoleonian hordes to Moscow, looting and fire in 1812, the temple itself suffered damage to fewer nearby churches, and after the consecration, two parish churches were immediately assigned (St. Nicholas in Pidkopayi and Trio x Saints on Kulishki). The church buildings and the official cabins of the clergy had bedrooms. There were never any living buildings in the church, except that clergy lived in church buildings on the church land. In chronological order, the following disputes arose: in 1830 - stone walls with mezzanines and a 2-surface priest's booth. Perebudovany 1888 r. behind the project V.M. Korneva; 1853 r. for the project of the architect N.M. Elagin Pobudovany 2-surface stone deacon's booth; in 1879 The project of the architect S. Sonin created 2 over-the-top alarms - one and the other.

After the revolution, a real danger of closure hung over the temple, because... which the local gathering of pioneers called for before transferring it to the temple for their own use. Regardless of the impersonal resolution of the Radyan bodies, by the grace of God the temple was not closed. There was no renewal of the church. On Great Day 1946, just after the end of the night liturgy, the church's rector, Archpriest Arkady Ponomariov, died quietly in the church. In 1948, the blessing of the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy I at the temple was openly supported by the Serbian Orthodox Church, which actually did not begin for political reasons. By decree of the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II on 31 April 1999, the Church of St. ap. Peter and Paul was reconstituted under the Patriarchal authority, in which the representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church was renewed.

At the meeting of the capital in the historical district of Lefortovo there is an ancient Orthodox church dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul. The church is a unique monument of Russian architecture, which has been preserved to this day practically unchanged.

REDUCTIONS until the end of the year

History

The first church, founded by this place, was not preserved. The bula was consecrated in 1613 for honor. This idea stemmed from the presence of the young Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich from the Romanov dynasty.

Statistics about the holy apostles Peter and Paul:

At the end of the 17th century, the church, which was the parish church of Soldiers' Freedom, was renovated by Colonel Franz Lefort. The new spore was larger than the old one and could accommodate all the soldiers in the order of Tsar Peter I’s neighbor.

The wooden temple was consecrated in honor of the supreme apostles Peter and Paul. I hope that it has reached today, they announced 1711 fate. Apparently, the young ruler of Russia saw the ceremony at the Kamiana church. During the hour of the French occupation of the capital, fire pits were placed near the walls of the cult herd.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the booths, having suffered minor damage as a result of the hurricane, fell from the domes and collapsed over the apse. The temple retained its original appearance from the Radian era. This means that we have lost the orderly and steady foundation of the Radian state. Throughout the 18th century, bells were not deactivated.

Architecture

Despite the fact that the founder of the church was a representative of the Protestant Church, it was inspired by the traditional architectural style of pre-Petrine Russia. It takes the shape of a constricted rectangular plant. Five cibulin sections are located above the central part. One non-traditional detail was the baroque shells that decorated the upper part of the quadrangle. The overall height of the temple is 38 meters.

The central part of the apostles Peter and Paul at the temple is covered with two side walls:

  1. Pivdennyy for honor.
  2. Pivnichny, dedication.

The church church is in the tent style. There is a roztashovana above the central entrance. The daytime and daytime portals are crowned with images of Pecherskaya.

Dzvinitsa to the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul near Lefortovo

On the territory of the church in 1991, a small temple was built for baptisms and consecrations in the name of Michael the Archangel. 2000 years ago they called a chapel to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. She preserves the ark with a portion of the Life-Giving Cross and the relics of venerable Orthodox saints (Sergius of Radonezky, Apostle Chomi).

Tsikavo! The external appearance of the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul in Lefortovo practically repeats the decoration of the Church of the Transfiguration on Piski, which was built in 1711. The descendants respect that the offending creations were created by one and the same architect or great artillery.

Internal improvements

In the middle of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, frescoes from the 18th century and a five-century iconostasis have been preserved.

And also near the temple there are sculpted icons:

The street on which this church was built has been called Soldatskaya since 1922, until then it was Petropavlovskaya, and even earlier, in the 18th century, it was called Lafertovskaya. What’s important is that all three names are interconnected and are directly related to the church, otherwise they indicate who they were, who led them, and in whom they were consecrated.

Already at the end of the 17th century, when the territory still included the boundaries of Moscow, Soldatska Sloboda appeared here - a settlement that served one of two elite regiments at that time under the command of Franz Lefort, the famous associate of Peter I (the Russian population called Yogo "Lafert" "). Originally from Geneva, during the past military training in the Netherlands, he began to pursue a successful career, having traveled to Moscow, where he lost his life, settling in the German Freedom. Together with Patrick Gordon, Lefort especially approached Peter I after the death of 1689, when he recruited his soldiers from the Trinity-Sergius Monastery to protect the young Tsar. He commanded the Other Moscow Selected Soldiers' Regiment - the oldest regular regiment in the Russian army, created back in 1642 by order of Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich. Peter's closeness with Lefort and Gordon meant that the Tsar became more frequent at the German Sloboda.

The Orthodox Church at the new soldiers' settlement had already begun: back in 1613, a wooden church was built in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. However, after Lefort’s inscription in 1696 there was a new wooden church, larger and larger to accommodate all the soldiers of the regiment. Possibly, the kamyana showed up to finish drinking soon, but three days later Lefort died and the process slowed down. As a result, the Kamyan church was built in 1711 and was also consecrated.

Regardless of the founding of Lefort, who was a Calvinist, and the new developments in architecture at the turn of the 17th–18th centuries, the Peter and Paul Church began to acquire the traditional look for pre-Petrine Russia: a booth stretched horizontally From the entrance to the descent, with a tent banner and five heads above the main area 'emom. Perhaps the only “fashionable” detail at that time can be seen under the church domes: instead of the traditional kokoshniks, a quadruple is topped with baroque shells, three on each side. At the beginning of the 18th century, such a reception was celebrated at the Budivnitsa Church in honor of the Rezdvo near the Don Monastery, as well as at the Church of the Transfiguration on Piski near the Arbat (offenses have been preserved to this day). The rest is very similar in its decor and size to the Peter and Paul Church in Soldatska Sloboda, and the dates of their appearance are similar – 1711 AD. It can also be assumed that a full-time architect is working, or, perhaps, one artillery piece is being hired.

Along with the head altar in honor of the apostles Peter and Paul, the church also has two side altars: the right hand - in honor of John the Theologian, and the left hand - in the name of St. Sergius of Radonez. Above the entrance to the temple there is a large round icon of the Kazan Mother of God.

The soldiers' settlement remained here until the end of the 18th century. Over the course of its history, the Lefortovo Regiment changed its anonymous name, having experienced the life of the Musketeers, the Grenadiers, and the Carabineers. Under different names, the wines arose until 1918, the place where they were quartered changed. The regional character of this region is being lost until now: the Zagalnovysk Academy of Armored Forces of the Russian Federation is located here.

The Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul suffered greatly at the beginning of the 20th century: at the hour of the Moscow hurricane of 16 (29) 1904, it was destroyed, and damage appeared. However, it was able to survive much stronger storms practically without losses: after the revolution, it did not last much longer, but completely saved its entire life. Their bells were not removed from their bells - a rarity for the 1930s, since most churches either lost their bells, or were hesitant to have them removed and not vikorize. The same concerns the iconostasis and the internal decoration of the church: everything can be achieved practically in the same appearance, a hundred years ago.
